Job description

Mass Tank Inspection Services (MTIS) is seeking a motivated Tank Inspector to join our field services team. This is a hands-on role with a wide range of responsibilities, ideal for someone who enjoys technical work, problem-solving, and working outdoors.

The Tank Inspector will work on aboveground and underground storage tank systems across various industries, helping ensure safety, compliance, and long-term asset integrity. No prior tank inspection experience is required—training is provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Field Work

  • Perform visual, external, and internal inspections of storage tanks in accordance with applicable standards and regulations
  • Inspect associated components including piping, valves, vents, ladders, gauges, containment systems, and foundations
  • Conduct ultrasonic thickness (UT) testing and other non-destructive testing methods
  • Assist with tank entry, confined space work, and tank cleaning activities as required

Documentation & Reporting

  • Record inspection findings through detailed notes, photographs, and data collection
  • Prepare clear and accurate inspection reports with observations and recommendations
  • Document tank conditions including structural integrity, corrosion, and operational issues

Team & Customer Support

  • Work closely with team members to complete field work safely and efficiently
  • Interface professionally with customers and site personnel
  • Support additional field services and inspection-related activities as needed

Qualifications
