How to become a service advisor?

Career: Service Advisor

To become a service advisor, you typically need at least a high school diploma or GED certificate and relevant experience. Although service advisors do not usually need to be certified auto repair technicians, they do need to understand the maintenance and repair of automobiles. To gain auto mechanic expertise and help boost your job prospects, you can pursue a postsecondary certificate in vehicle repair or maintenance. Employers may accept this certification in place of previous job experience. Some companies may also provide on-the-job training for applicants who have studied auto shop in high school. Other qualifications include strong customer service, communication, and sales skills.
