Career: Recreation Manager
To pursue a career as a recreation manager, your first step is a bachelor’s degree in recreation management, park resources, or leisure services from a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions (COAPRT). You must also gain at least one year of full-time work experience in the field to be eligible for professional certification from the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). The first level of certification you can obtain is the Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) designation.
