The qualifications you need to become a rate analyst include mathematical and analytical skills and a degree in a relevant subject. Most employers expect a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, math, or business. Some companies accept job applicants with an associate degree or high school diploma and several years of relevant experience. In addition to skills in analysis, you need the ability to collect and organize data and to communicate your findings in a report or spreadsheet. You must have moderate-to-high computer proficiency, especially as regards specialized software for analyses.
