The first step to being a litigator is earning a bachelor’s degree in pre-law or another subject that gives you the academic qualifications needed to enter law school. During law school, you take general courses and may also have the opportunity to study specialized subjects such as family law, business law, or civil law. The final step to becoming a litigator is passing the state bar exam. After this, you are a lawyer who may work as a junior member of a legal firm to gain experience.
