How to become a litigation secretary?

Career: Litigation Secretary

To become a Litigation Secretary, you’ll first need to earn an associates degree in such relevant areas as a legal secretary or legal assistant. Depending on your employer, an additional qualification could include certification in your field, but it is generally not a requirement. This can be gained through The National Association for Legal Professionals (NALS) by passing a three-part, four-hour exam. You should also have sharp organization, customer service, and clerical skills, and an administrative background can be an advantage. Litigators will often work long and irregular hours during court cases, so you might have to be similarly flexible in your availability.
