How to become a gate agent?

Career: Gate Agent

As a gate agent, you manage the boarding gates for your airline at an airport. You deal with passengers departing and arriving on flights. A career as a gate agent does not require post-secondary education, although you must have extensive customer service experience. Additional qualifications include strong communication skills, a friendly personality, and the ability to work weekends and holidays. Many airlines prefer bilingual candidates, particularly if they fly to destinations in which that language is commonly spoken. Most gate agents also perform duties as a general customer service agent.
