How to become a freight agent?

Career: Freight Agent

To become a freight agent, you need a high school diploma or GED certificate. While some employers may require a bachelor’s degree in logistics, on-the-job training is usually sufficient for an entry-level position. Basic knowledge of logistics, shipping, and import laws is necessary to fulfill the role. In addition to education and training, a freight agent must secure a broker surety bond, and depending on the type of freight, a license from the appropriate government agency.
