How to become a food inspector?

Career: Food Inspector

The qualifications for becoming a food inspector vary by state, but most employers require a high school or GED certificate. Many food inspectors have also completed some post-secondary education in fields such as the food sciences, agricultural sciences, epidemiology, and biology. However, you learn most of the necessary skills on the job. If you want to work at the USDA, you must complete a bachelor’s degree or have a year of experience working in the food industry. The USDA also has a written exam that you must pass before you can begin work.
