Becoming a Desktop Analyst generally involves obtaining a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or another related field. You typically also need to gain several years of experience in your industry, during which you may receive specialized on-the-job training. Any previous IT support or customer service experience will also be beneficial in this career. Desktop Analysts should know and understand various computer software and be familiar with working on a variety of different operating systems such as Windows or Apple so they are prepared to address issues at a company.
