How to become a conference producer?

Career: Conference Producer

Conference Producers need to have a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience working in the professional event management industry. Employers seek excellent communicators across all platforms, whether in-person meetings, phone, remote meetings, and email. Conference Producers are very organized and some employers may prefer a candidate who already has a network of contacts to leverage. This is a position for individuals who can manage stress well and troubleshoot solutions on a dime. You are familiar with creating budgets and comfortable negotiating contracts to adhere to budget constraints. It’s also important for Conference Producers to demonstrate some marketing and social media expertise, including developing online content. Technical skills, specifically the ability to facilitate conference materials and attendance online, are a plus.
