Commercial litigation attorneys must follow the same educational path as other lawyers. You must earn a bachelor's degree, then complete law school. Once you have finished your schooling, you need to pass your state bar exam to be eligible to practice. Some companies have litigation needs in many states, so you may be required to pass the bar exam in several different states. Many commercial litigation attorneys start their careers working in civil litigation before transitioning to commercial litigation. You can find these positions with specialized law firms and work with several clients or work as an in-house attorney for one corporation.
