To be a good news reporter, you must work collaboratively with the entire team. If you work in broadcast news, this includes writers, editors, camera people, producers, and on-air and administrative staff. In written mediums, the team is much smaller, but cooperation is equally important. You should strive to give accurate, well-researched, and sourced information to the public, whether in a well-written article or by news broadcast. When providing an opinion or hypothesis about an event or story, make it clear that you are editorializing. When appropriate, you cite your sources, yet keep anonymous any sources that wish to remain unidentified.
