FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties:
The reporter will attend editorial meetings and contribute story ideas. They will weigh in on story selection. The reporter will help gather as much content for as much linear and digital programming as possible. They will work to help build the station's reputation and relationships in the community. They will be responsible for writing stories for linear and digital programming.
Equipment:
Reporter will be expected to use Inews or other internal communication system, Slack, myfoxpay and Workday. The reporter should be capable of shooting and editing a quality news package meeting the standards of the market. This means if called upon the reporter could use a phone camera to gather news and produce a simple quality package worthy of air.
Working Conditions:
Primary work environment is the field, news vehicle and news building. Occasional time spent in the actual studio.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in journalism, broadcast journalism or a related field of study is preferred. 3+ years experience writing and researching news required. Candidate must demonstrate strong writing skills and great knowledge of current events. Candidate must be a team player and available to work flexible hours including holidays. Candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills in both newsroom interaction and story-telling. Ideal candidate demonstrates vast knowledge of social media trends and best practices.
