"LocalNews1" is a premier digital news outlet serving over 70,000 households across the Maryland and Pennsylvania state line. We provide factually accurate, hyper-local news that helps our neighbors stay informed and connected.

We are seeking a motivated, community-minded Part-Time News Reporter / Writer to join our team covering Hagerstown, MD, Chambersburg PA and Waynesboro PA and surrounding areas. In this role, you will cover everything from big breaking news to small, heartwarming community stories, civic meetings, and local events.

What You Will Do:

  • On-the-Ground Reporting: Attend local civic meetings, community fairs, high school events, and business openings to gather details and interview residents.
  • Content Creation: Write compelling, accurate, and timely digital news articles, features, and headlines for LocalNews1.
  • Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with local leaders, business owners, and community groups to uncover unique local story angles.
