Front end managers oversee operations at the front section of a retail store. To be an excellent front end manager, exceed customer expectations and ensure they have a positive experience entering and leaving the store. Monitor customer activity closely, making sure the staff is friendly and helpful. Step in to assist the customer’s request when an employee is unable to complete it. Straighten shelves and product displays to keep them neat and attractive. Open up new check out aisles when lines become too long. Listen to your staff when they have issues during their shift. To become a front end manager, you need a high school diploma and retail or customer service experience.
