How do credit counselors get paid?
Career: Credit Counselor
Depending on where they work, credit counselors are either paid a salary or a salary plus commission. For the former, credit counselors charge a fee for their services, and their pay is not affected by any additional financial management services. They may earn bonuses for making sales, but their salary is constant. If they work off of commission, they make the majority of their money by selling financial services. Their job is to not only provide counseling but also sell their clients on these additional services. Credit counseling services typically include budget counseling, debt repayment, and financial analysis.
