Career: Insurance Executive
The qualifications to become an insurance executive include a bachelor’s degree or extensive previous experience working with employee benefits and within an insurance agency. Although licensure is not always required, some employers may prefer that you pursue it upon being hired. You must be able to work both independently and on a team, be confident, self-motivated, have strong leadership skills, and speak and write effectively and professionally in presenting to potential clients and CEOs. You are expected to be a creative problem-solver when needed, answer questions regarding new insurance products or services, and possess in-depth knowledge of each service/product the insurance company offers. You must also pass a background check and have a valid driver’s license.
