How can I become an animator?

To become an animator, you need an associate or bachelor’s degree in animation, art, computer graphics, or a similar field. Although much of animation is now done using computers, you should still have a strong ability to sketch, draw, and draft by hand, which is helpful for presenting storyboards to producers or clients. Other required technical skills include the ability to work with 2D and 3D modeling software, understanding how to link your animations with background images to make frames, and knowledge of how to combine sound with characters’ movement.
