How can I become a securities analyst?

Securities analysts need several qualifications to work in the industry. Most analysts have a bachelor’s degree, and useful courses to study include economics, finance, accounting, and statistics. If one of your responsibilities is to sell securities, such as stocks or bonds, then you need to be licensed by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Licensure requires employer sponsorship, so it is not a prerequisite for getting a job as a securities analyst but is necessary to sell securities eventually. Voluntary certification, such as becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst, is also helpful.
