Do school principals get summers off?

Career: School Principal

Most school principals do not get summers off, unlike teachers. However, you will get paid vacation, somewhere between two to four weeks depending on the school district where you work. You will likely choose to take your vacation time during the summer when there is less going on at the school, so there’s not as much for you to manage or supervise directly. A perk of working as a school principal is that you get most school holidays off during the school year, such as winter break, fall break, spring break, and federal holidays.
