Do rig welders live on the rig?

Career: Rig Welder

Rig Welders, like other workers on oil rigs, typically do not permanently live on the rig. Instead, they work on a rotational basis. The typical arrangement involves working for a set period of time (often two weeks or a month) on the rig, followed by an equal or longer period off the rig. During their work shifts on the rig, Rig Welders typically stay in accommodations provided by the company, such as dormitory-style living quarters or designated housing. During their off time, Rig Welders return to their homes.
