CVFF stands for Cabotage Vessel Financing Fund. It is a fund established by the Nigerian government to provide financial assistance for vessel acquisition by indigenous shipping companies. The goal of the CVFF is to promote the growth of the local maritime industry by making it easier for Nigerian operators to acquire and maintain vessels, thereby boosting participation in coastal and inland shipping. The fund is managed by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), and eligible shipping companies can apply through approved banks.
