What is a Cardinal Charter?

Cardinal Charters are official documents issued by the Catholic Church, particularly by the Pope, that formally appoint a clergy member to the rank of Cardinal. These charters detail the rights, duties, and privileges associated with being a Cardinal, as well as outlining their responsibilities within the Church hierarchy.
