What is an associate social worker?

Associate Social Workers (ASWs) are individuals who have earned a Master's degree in social work and are registered with a state board, typically as part of the process toward becoming licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs). ASWs work under the supervision of a licensed professional while they gain the required work experience and clinical hours for full licensure.
