What is an ACT RN?

ACT RNs, or Assertive Community Treatment Registered Nurses, are specialized nurses who work as part of a multidisciplinary ACT team to provide comprehensive, community-based psychiatric treatment, rehabilitation, and support to individuals with serious mental illnesses. They often work outside of traditional clinical settings, visiting clients in their homes or communities to ensure continuity of care, manage medications, and support recovery. ACT RNs collaborate closely with social workers, psychiatrists, and other professionals to help clients achieve greater independence and improved quality of life.
