    Job description

Are you a high-energy go-getter who loves being out in the community? Do you thrive on the hustle of meeting new people and helping local businesses grow? If you’re ready to control your own income and be the face of local news, we want you on our team.

LocalNews1.org is a premier digital news outlet serving 70,000 households across Franklin County, PA, and Washington County, MD. We are entirely independent—we provide real local news online without the chaos of social media algorithms and without the distraction of national news junk. We focus purely on what matters here: local schools, high school sports, hometown entertainment, and hyper-local community updates.

We are looking for a relentless Outside Sales Representative & Brand Ambassador to hit the pavement, spread the word, and connect local businesses with our clean, high-visibility digital advertising platform. This is not a desk job. We need someone dedicated to doing the leg work to ensure that everyone in our community knows we are the go-to alternative to social media noise.

What You’ll Do (The Leg Work)

    • Hit the Pavement: Go door-to-door visiting local businesses, shops, and organizations across the region to introduce them to LocalNews1.org.
    • Drive Hyper-Local Awareness: Hand out marketing flyers, secure promotional placement in local business windows, and make sure our brand is highly visible.
    • Own Community Events: Represent the company at YMCA special events, civic group meetings, local fairs, and community gatherings to network and build relationships.
    • Consultative Selling: Help local business owners transition their ad budgets away from cluttered social media networks and onto our clean, trusted, hyper-local news site.

We’d Love to Have You If:

    • You love the hustle: You aren’t afraid of door-to-door outreach or hearing the word "no"—you view it as a challenge to win people over.
    • You believe in "Real" News: You understand the value of having a clean local news source that isn't dependent on social media algorithms or crowded with unrelated national stories.
    • You want uncapped earning potential: You prefer a commission structure because you trust your work ethic to dictate your paycheck.
    • You know the area: You live in or around Franklin County, PA, or Washington County, MD, and care about the success of your community.
    • You are self-motivated: You can manage your own schedule, set your own daily goals, and stay driven without someone watching over your shoulder.

No prior advertising experience? No problem. We will train the right person if you have the drive, the personality, and a genuine excitement for the hustle.

    Why Join Us?

    • Uncapped Commissions: The harder you work, the more you make.
    • Total Flexibility: Set your own hours and manage your own territory.
    • A Product You Can Stand Behind: You are selling an ad environment that is clean, professional, and trusted by over 170,000 local residents.

    How to Apply

Ready to dominate the local market and help businesses escape the social media clutter? Send your resume and a brief cover letter explaining why you’re the perfect fit for this community-driven role.
