    Job description

    CEES\EAAD Cost Engineer - Infotainment & Hardware Design develops direct material costs and tooling investments for Electrical and Electronics components using activity-based costing methodology while working from bill of materials, drawings and/or samples. Cost Engineer responsibilities will include use of Stellantis component cost methodologies and processes to develop, analyze, and provide guidance for cost convergence to internal stakeholders. The Infotainment & Hardware Design Cost Engineer will assist the worldwide teams with technical cost evaluation services to estimate component costs for projects in advanced through serial life cycle phases.
    An ability to be agile, curious, and an engaging cross functional teammate is required to support cost evaluation activities within a global organization.
    Key deliverables:
    • Development of component costs for new programs ("cost engineering estimate" at initial concept; "should cost calculation" through bottom-up approach for new & modified purchased components based on the 'how it's made' manufacturing process)
    • Provide Engineering support during vehicle development phase for target achievement (Design to Cost)
    • Development of tooling costs for new programs
    • Provide purchasing support during supplier negotiations through gap analysis of supplier's price breakdown detail
    • Provide Engineering with support during the vehicle development phase for target achievement (Design to Cost)
    • Support of the Global Cost Initiative and Worldwide Component Cost comparisons/studies
    • Support of Benchmarking and Value Optimization (VO) activities including support of serial life should cost requests
    • The CE works closely with Engineering, Buyer, other CTPC functions, Finance and supplier representatives
    • For Cost Engineer - Infotainment & Hardware Design, the CE should have understanding of global domain of infotainment and HPC (High Process Computer) (SoC/SiP, memories, SW capability, WiFi/BT, SGW, up-integration)
    • The Cost Engineer will assist the worldwide teams with technical services to estimate component prices for the new technologies.

    The mission:
    • Contribute to the Strategic Up Integration Vision for Stellantis's ECUs
    • Provide Long-term techno-economical guidance and direction for individuals and projects products
    • Stay one step ahead of the product development, challenge and set contacts with components

    Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
    • Research relevant market trends, industrial standards, and innovations
    • Perform Competitive Benchmarking and suggest value optimization ideas to programs to ensure the competitiveness of Stellantis solutions
    • Identify potential cost optimization opportunities and support company technical cost reduction activities. This may include periodic Supplier visits to maintain & improve internal know-how of manufacturing processes & best practices
    • Provide global component cost comparison analysis by working within the Cost Engineering
    • Community Research relevant market trends, industrial standards, and innovations
    • Build and maintain techno-economical competences for infotainment and HPC/Radio/Infotainment technologies
    • Build and maintain HPC/Radio/Infotainment model plant specificities
    • Evaluate and negotiate the ED&D with suppliers
    • Work with Suppliers and solutions providers to influence and align their future roadmap with Stellantis to ensure the competitiveness of Stellantis Solution

    Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or related field
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive, advanced manufacturing or related industries
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to create high quality presentation materials and reports for presentation to management levels
    • Must demonstrate a high level of organization and ability to track a high number of part numbers and part complexity
    • Proficient in MS Office suite of tools including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
    • Ability to interface with all levels of the enterprise, across multiple organizations and regions
    • Basic component knowledge

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related scientific field
    • Working knowledge of component development and the steps required to deliver a solution
    • Familiarity with Cost Model elements and how to apply Activity Based Costing to component cost development
    • Experience in production facilities along with knowledge of how electronic parts are made
    • Working knowledge of software development and the steps required to deliver a solution
