    Position Summary
    The Vice President of Global Merchandising is responsible for defining and executing the global merchandising strategy across all product categories and channels. This executive leader will own the end-to-end product assortment strategy for apparel, sleep and lounge; ensuring every collection reflects the SKIMS brand while maximizing commercial performance across owned retail, eCommerce, wholesale, franchise, and international markets.
    This role sits at the intersection of Product Development, Design, Planning, Buying, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Regional Commercial teams, translating customer insights, market opportunities, and financial objectives into compelling product assortments that drive sustainable growth.
    The ideal candidate is both highly analytical and creatively driven-someone who understands the balance between building iconic product franchises, launching innovation, and optimizing global assortments through data-informed decision making.
    Key Responsibilities

    Global Merchandising Strategy
    • Develop and execute the global merchandising category vision aligned with SKIMS' long-term growth strategy.
    • Own assortment architecture across apparel, sleep and lounge, balancing innovation, core businesses, and seasonal newness.
    • Define global product strategies while enabling localized assortment opportunities across international markets.
    • Drive category expansion opportunities, identifying whitespace and future growth initiatives.
    • Ensure consistency of the SKIMS brand while adapting assortments for regional customer needs.
    • Deliver E2E product strategy and performance for our global digital business in partnership with the digital x-functional team.

    Product Lifecycle Management
    • Lead the merchandising calendar from seasonal concept through product launch.
    • Establish category strategies based on consumer insights, historical performance, competitive analysis, and market trends.
    • Partner closely with Design and Product Development to shape seasonal line architecture and product storytelling.
    • Determine assortment of breadth, depth, pricing architecture, and lifecycle strategies.
    • Champion product innovation while protecting the strength of core businesses.

    Commercial Leadership
    • Drive profitable sales growth through optimized assortments across DTC, Retail, Wholesale, and Franchise channels.
    • Partner with Global Planning to align merchandising strategies with financial targets, inventory investments, and Open-to-Buy plans.
    • Monitor business performance and make data-driven adjustments throughout each season.
    • Lead regular assortment reviews and performance recaps with executive leadership.

    Cross-Functional Partnership
    • Partner with Design to ensure product vision aligns with customer demand and commercial opportunity.
    • Collaborate with Planning and Buying to optimize inventory productivity and lifecycle management.
    • Work closely with Marketing to develop seasonal storytelling and product launch strategies.
    • Partner with Supply Chain and Sourcing to ensure merchandising strategies are operationally executable.
    • Support regional teams with localized assortment planning and commercial recommendations.

    Consumer & Market Insights
    • Maintain a deep understanding of the global customer, emerging trends, competitive landscape, and retail marketplace.
    • Leverage consumer data and analytics to influence assortment decisions.
    • Identify opportunities to improve customer productivity, category penetration, and basket size.
    • Champion customer-first decision making throughout the merchandising organization.

    Leadership
    • Build and lead a world-class global merchandising organization.
    • Develop organizational capabilities, succession planning, and talent pipelines.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Mentor and develop future merchandising leaders across the business.

    Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
    Qualifications
    • 15+ years of progressive merchandising leadership experience within global fashion, apparel, or consumer brands.
    • Executive-level experience leading global merchandising organizations.
    • Proven success managing complex, multi-category product portfolios.
    • Strong understanding of Direct-to-Consumer, Retail, Wholesale, Franchise, and international business models.
    • Experience partnering closely with Design, Product Development, Planning, and Executive Leadership.
    • Demonstrated success building high-performing merchandising organizations during periods of rapid growth.
    • Exceptional analytical, financial, and strategic planning capabilities.
    • Strong executive presence with outstanding communication and influencing skills.
    • Experience working within fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience leading merchandising within a premium global lifestyle or fashion brand.
    • International merchandising and assortment localization experience.
    • Strong understanding of apparel product development timelines and global supply chains.
    • Experience utilizing advanced merchandising analytics and business intelligence tools.
