Role and Responsibilities

This role primarily supports Samsung-owned retail locations, with additional oversight of Samsung-owned assets used by third-party labor teams and indirect channel partners. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Theft Prevention & Loss Management: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive theft prevention strategies across Samsung-owned retail locations and third-party channel environments. Identify vulnerabilities in asset handling workflows, escalate risk indicators, and lead corrective action plans in collaboration with Operations, HR, and Legal to minimize shrink and protect Samsung's bottom line.
  • Loss Prevention Operations & KPI Management: Establish, track, and report on key loss prevention KPIs - including shrink rate, incident frequency, recovery rate, and investigation resolution time. Develop dashboards and reporting cadences that provide real-time visibility to leadership, and drive continuous improvement in loss prevention performance across all channels.
  • Cash & Courier Management: Oversee cash handling procedures across retail channels, standardizing protocols to ensure uniformity, accuracy, and compliance. Manage courier pick-up schedules and vendor accountability, optimize routes to reduce asset-in-transit risk, and maintain clear communication channels between courier partners and retail teams to eliminate gaps in chain of custody.
  • Camera Review & Security Operations: Manage surveillance infrastructure across Samsung-owned locations - including deployment strategy, coverage gap analysis, and real-time monitoring protocols. Leverage analytics tools to detect and alert on suspicious activity, and train store personnel on camera review, incident identification, and administrative error reduction to strengthen overall site security.
  • Investigation Activity: Lead and manage investigations related to internal and external theft, fraudulent activities, vandalism, and unexplained asset losses. Coordinate across Operations, Retail, HR, and Legal as appropriate; maintain detailed case documentation; and provide findings and recommendations to senior leadership. Serve as the primary point of contact for law enforcement coordination when required.
  • Asset Tracking, Reporting & Inventory Research: Own end-to-end device and asset tracking across Samsung-owned retail locations and assets deployed with third-party labor teams and indirect channel partners. Manage tracking systems and reporting tools to maintain accurate inventory records, investigate discrepancies, and ensure all FOC (free-of-charge) asset activity is documented and reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Training: Partner with Retail Operations, Finance, HR, Accounts, and Legal teams to surface asset protection risks and implement solutions. Develop and deliver training recommendations for retail staff on best practices in cash management, device handling, and loss prevention awareness to build a culture of accountability across all channels.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. High school diploma or equivalent required at minimum.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or related investigative roles - with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory capacity.
  • Proven experience managing loss prevention operations in a retail, consumer electronics, or high-value goods environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and manage KPI frameworks, including shrink metrics, incident tracking, and investigation resolution reporting.
  • Experience conducting or overseeing internal and external theft investigations, with working knowledge of investigative protocols, documentation standards, and legal compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with surveillance systems (CCTV), access control platforms, and asset tracking technologies.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with Operations, HR, Legal, and senior leadership.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to Samsung-owned retail locations and partner sites.

  • Experience managing cash handling operations and courier/logistics vendor relationships in a retail context.
  • Professional certification in loss prevention or asset protection: Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Wicklander-Zulawski (WZ) Interview & Interrogation, Loss Prevention Qualified (LPQ), or Loss Prevention Certified (LPC).
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws related to theft, privacy, workplace investigations, and evidence handling.
