POSITION SUMMARY
McCarthy Building Companies is looking for skilled Equipment Operators II-III I for exciting Civil projects in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will operate a variety of construction equipment (excavators, dozers, loaders, off-road trucks, skid steers, etc.) in commercial, civil, or marine projects. The ideal applicant has 3+ years of experience as an equipment operator and maneuvers equipment in a safe manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Completes Crew Task Hazard Analysis (THA) logs daily
  • Recognize hazards and danger zones
  • Plan and execute work with minimum supervision
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Properly identify soil types
  • Complete shallow and deep trenching excavations activities
  • Rough and fine grading with dozer
  • Safely Load and unload materials
  • Drive water truck/off road truck
  • Completes machine load charts
  • Operate long reach excavator and motor grader
  • Operate walk behind roller compactor and plate compactor
  • Operate small construction equipment (front loader, mixer, forklift, and skid steer)
  • Inspect and provide basic maintenance on equipment
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience with self-perform earthwork in commercial, civil, or marine environments
  • Must be able to use laser level
  • Identify and use common construction materials, hand tools, and power/electrical tools (hammer, shovel, water pump, measuring tape, hammer drill, drill, Sawzall, skill-saw, vibrators, saw, demolition hammer, etc.)
  • Understand construction terminology
  • Proven commitment to Safety
  • Work in an organized manner
  • Able to work night shifts when needed
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
  • Must be self-motivated and can work well with others
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds
  • Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces
  • Minimum age 18+
