Job description

Overview
The Maintenance Technician IV is responsible for overseeing the preventive and routine maintenance on all distribution center equipment and structures as well as performing complex repairs while supporting the production operation.
1st Shift: Monday - Thursday 5am - 3:30 pm

Responsibilities
  • Oversee a team of Technicians in the performance of general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and upkeep of the entire distribution center
  • Review Computerized Maintenance Management System and assign Technicians to workorders, maintenance tasks, and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Perform Quality Control Checks on all maintenance tasks, workorders, and documentation
  • Document and report completion of all Facility/Material Handling equipment maintenance to Supervisor
  • Troubleshoot and repair extensive electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems (i.e. Programable Logic Controller malfunctions, transformer failures, VFD diagnostics, shoe/tilt tray sorter repairs, servo motor troubleshooting, cardboard baler service, etc.)
  • Design or fabricate the necessary components for projects
  • Operate lift trucks, maintenance equipment, grounds equipment, and company vehicles
  • Perform extensive maintenance procedures including conducting daily preventative maintenance inspections
  • Properly follow critical Lock Out / Tag Out actions while working on equipment, use required PPE (i.e. safety glasses, Arc flash suits, respirators, and fall protection), and follow both company and OSHA safety procedures
  • Support Junior Technicians through basic facility/grounds maintenance including but not limited to basic plumbing, yard work, lightbulb replacement, drywall repair, HVAC checks, cleaning, and floor repairs
  • Support Junior Technicians through troubleshooting and repair of basic electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems (i.e. belt tracking, sensors, chain alignment and tension, replace/repair gear boxes/motors, electrical overloads, blown fuses, broken mac valves, etc.)
  • Use industrial power tools such as welders, bandsaws, lathes, presses, bench grinders, etc.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 7 years previous Facility/Material Handling equipment maintenance experience with 3 years assigned as a Technician III equivalent, or 5 years previous Facility/Material Handling equipment maintenance experience with 5 years previous maintenance experience in a relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience in conveyor systems, HVAC, plumbing, general building maintenance, and knowledge of safety regulations
  • Proficient in P.L.C's, PC Controls, welding procedures, electrical repairs, and installation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read, write, conduct business related mathematics, analyze data, and utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System as required
  • Capable of moving up to 40 pounds at least 25 feet in distance occasionally with assistance as needed
  • Comfortable operating equipment 30-40 feet in the air
  • Able to comfortably fit and work in a fall protection harness
  • Leadership and effective communication skills

The base rate will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
