Job description

Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing and engineering sector, is seeking a dedicated Engineering Technical Writer to join their team. As an Engineering Technical Writer, you will be an integral part of the Documentation and Quality Assurance department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to process improvement, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Engineering Technical Writer

Location: Broomfield, Colorado

Pay Range: Wide range DOE (around $50+/hour)

What's the Job?

  • Develop, edit, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation supporting manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, and operational activities.
  • Establish and drive documentation best practices, standards, templates, and governance processes across the organization.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to create clear, accurate, and user-focused work instructions, SOPs, policies, technical reports, and process documentation.
  • Standardize document structures, formatting, terminology, revision practices, and approval workflows to improve consistency and usability.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of document control processes, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical writing, document control, quality documentation, or knowledge management.
  • Experience developing technical documentation in manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, aerospace, semiconductor, medical device, software, or other technical environments.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and document organization skills.
  • Experience working with document management systems, collaboration platforms, or quality management systems.
