Job description

The Lead Workday Software Configurator is responsible for designing, configuring, testing, and maintaining Workday modules to support business operations and HR processes. This position partners with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective Workday solutions, ensuring optimal system performance and user experience.

What you'll do:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Workday custom reports, including advanced, matrix, composite, and dashboard reports, as well as BIRT and Prism Analytics solutions.

  • Design and support calculated fields, data sources, report prompts, and report security to deliver accurate, user-friendly reporting for business stakeholders.

  • Configure and maintain Workday modules such as HCM, Compensation, and Recruiting based on business requirements, including business processes, security roles, calculated fields, and reporting.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document reporting, analytics, and system requirements for new features, enhancements, and integrations.

  • Build, test, and validate reporting and configuration changes through unit testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Workday reports, Prism data sets, BIRT layouts, and system configurations, providing ongoing support to end users.

  • Create and maintain clear documentation for report designs, calculated fields, data mappings, business processes, and system changes.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance reporting capabilities, streamline processes, improve data visibility, and support better business decision-making.

  • Develop user guides and training materials and deliver training to HR teams and business users on Workday reporting tools and functionality.

  • Ensure reporting and system configurations align with organizational policies, data governance standards, privacy requirements, and compliance needs.

  • Collaborate with HR, IT, and cross-functional teams to support Workday projects, integrations, releases, and system upgrades.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of experience configuring and supporting Workday or a similar HRIS/ERP system.

  • Strong understanding of HR business processes and system workflows.

  • Experience with Workday business processes, security, integrations, and reporting.

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Workday certification preferred (e.g., Workday HCM, Recruiting, Absence, Comp, Advance Comp).

What you'll bring:

  • Familiarity with Workday report writing and calculated fields.

  • Experience with Workday configurations (HCM, Compensation, Adv Comp, Recruiting).

  • Project management experience is a plus.

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Understanding of data privacy and compliance requirements.
