Could you be the full-time onsite Fleet Support Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA, US we're looking for? The successful candiate may be located in Pittsburgh or West Mifflin, PA ;or any of the following airports (Atlanta, San Francisco, Denver, or Phoenix).
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your mechanical engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll play a key role in ensuring the mechanical integrity, reliability, and performance of APM vehicles and related wayside mechanical equipment, directly contributing to the success of in-service fleets and start-up projects. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (maintenance teams, authority engineers, and cross-functional design teams), prepare and manage engineering change documentation related to mechanical systems, and much more.
We'll look to you for:
  • Developing and validating mechanical engineering solutions for APM vehicles. ,
  • Supporting maintenance teams with troubleshooting and root cause analysis of mechanical failures. ,
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure integrated and compliant designs. ,
  • Assisting in preparing technical content for Capital Asset Replacement Programs (CARP). ,
  • Preparing and managing engineering change documentation related to mechanical systems. ,
  • Partnering with authority engineers to ensure compliance with mechanical standards and regulations. ,
  • Functioning as a liaison between O&M Site Engineering and cognizant APM Design Authority representatives. ,
  • Working alongside site colleagues to support troubleshooting, CARP, or project-related activities when requested. ,
  • Traveling to various locations, including short-notice assignments, to provide on-site support. ,
  • Demonstrating resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning in a dynamic engineering environment."

  • Experience or understanding of Automated People Mover (APM) systems, rail, or similar mechanical engineering roles. ,
  • Familiarity with engineering change documentation and technical standards compliance. ,
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. ,
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and root cause analysis of mechanical failures. ,
  • Adaptability to travel 50% or more, including short-notice assignments. ,
  • Ability to develop and validate innovative mechanical engineering solutions.
