ERM is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager - North America to lead tax operations across the United States and Canada while contributing to high-profile transformation initiatives, including ERP modernization, legal entity rationalization, automation, and responsible AI adoption.
This is more than a tax management role. It is an opportunity to influence business decisions, mentor and develop talent, collaborate with global leadership, and build the foundation for your next step into senior tax leadership. You'll work directly with ERM's Global Tax Leadership, gaining exposure to complex international tax matters and strategic projects that shape the future of the organization.

  • Shape the tax workstream for major strategic initiatives, including ERP implementation and legal entity simplification programs.
  • Develop and mentor an Indirect Tax Analyst while fostering a high-performance, service-oriented culture.
  • Advance automation, analytics, and responsible AI solutions that improve efficiency and strengthen tax controls.
  • Partner closely with Global Tax Leadership, gaining exposure to enterprise-wide tax strategy and transformation initiatives.

What You'll Bring:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive tax experience gained within public accounting, a multinational organization, or a combination of both.
  • Strong, hands-on expertise in U.S. federal, state, and local corporate taxation.
  • Deep knowledge of corporate tax compliance, tax accounting, and ASC 740 reporting requirements.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS tax reporting.
  • Experience with U.S. indirect taxes, including sales and use tax, property tax, gross receipts taxes, transaction-based taxes, and business licensing requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading workstreams, reviewing deliverables, and developing team members.
  • Experience managing external tax advisors and interacting with tax authorities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred
  • CPA, MST, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Exposure to Canadian corporate tax and indirect tax matters.
  • Experience within a multinational, project-based professional services environment.
  • Background supporting mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Knowledge of cross-border tax matters, contract review, and legal entity rationalization initiatives.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations, finance transformation, or process redesign programs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, or other major ERP platforms.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities and experience with tax technology, automation, reporting, or workflow tools.
  • Interest in emerging technologies, AI, and digital transformation within finance and tax functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage responses to tax audits, notices, and information requests.
  • Support Canadian GST/HST matters in collaboration with external advisors.

Business Partnering & Cross-Border Advisory
  • Review contracts, service agreements, proposals, and statements of work to identify tax implications and risks.
  • Advise stakeholders on tax-efficient structures, pricing, invoicing, and cost recovery considerations.
  • Assess cross-border matters involving payroll taxes, withholding taxes, permanent establishment risks, and treaty implications.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Finance, Legal, Commercial, and operational teams.
