Job description

Lead Data Analyst
Department: IT
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Remote- USA
Description
Trilon is building a supercharged, technology-enabled future for our people and partners. The Lead Data Analyst plays a critical role in that mission by owning the analytics layer of the Data Platform and ensuring that insights delivered across the organization are accurate, consistent, and actionable.
This role serves as the senior analytics authority, responsible for setting analytical standards, governing semantic model architecture, and leading a team of Data Analysts. You ensure that reporting and dashboards across the platform are built on a consistent foundation and that the analytics function scales effectively as new data sources, companies, and use cases are added.
You operate as a player-coach, managing a team while remaining hands-on as the most senior analytical contributor. You define how data is modeled, how metrics are calculated, and how insights are presented to business leaders. You own the Power BI environment, including dataset architecture, report quality, and access control, ensuring a high standard across all outputs.
You work closely with the VP of Data and Analytics to align analytics with business priorities, with Data Engineering to ensure data is structured for analysis, and with business and program leadership to deliver insights that drive decision-making. You also support the AI and Digital program by developing reporting that tracks adoption, ROI, and overall impact.
This role requires deep technical expertise in Power BI, strong analytical judgment, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, meaningful insights. You are rigorous about data accuracy, clear in your communication, and focused on building an analytics capability that scales across a distributed organization.
Key Responsibilities
Analytics Leadership and Standards
  • Define and enforce analytical standards across reporting, dashboards, and data models
  • Establish best practices for metric definition, calculation logic, and data usage
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy across all analytics outputs
  • Govern how data is interpreted and presented across the organization

Semantic Model and Data Modeling Ownership
  • Design and maintain enterprise semantic models used across Power BI
  • Ensure models are scalable, reusable, and aligned with business definitions
  • Standardize key metrics and dimensions across reporting domains
  • Partner with Data Engineering to align data structures with analytical needs

Power BI Environment Governance
  • Own the Power BI environment, including dataset architecture, report quality, and access control
  • Establish standards for report design, usability, and performance
  • Manage deployment, versioning, and lifecycle of reports and datasets
  • Ensure proper data security and access governance

Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead and mentor a team of Data Analysts
  • Provide guidance on analysis, modeling, and reporting best practices
  • Review work to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with standards
  • Support team development and growth in technical and analytical capabilities

Business Partnership and Insight Delivery
  • Serve as the primary analytics partner to business leaders and program stakeholders
  • Translate business questions into analytical frameworks and outputs
  • Deliver clear, actionable insights that support decision-making
  • Communicate complex data concepts in a way that is accessible to non-technical audiences

Program and Performance Analytics
  • Develop reporting and dashboards for AI and Digital program performance
  • Track adoption, ROI, and impact of platform tools across operating companies
  • Provide leadership with a clear view of program effectiveness and outcomes
  • Support executive and board-level reporting

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work with the VP of Data and Analytics to define the analytics roadmap
  • Partner with the Lead Data Engineer to ensure data pipelines support analytical needs
  • Collaborate with Data Platform Engineers to ensure new data sources are analytics-ready
  • Align with product and engineering teams on data definitions and usage

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 7+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics roles
  • 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring analysts
  • Deep expertise in Power BI, including advanced DAX, semantic modeling, and report development
  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles and dimensional modeling
  • Experience governing enterprise reporting environments and standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate business needs into structured analytical solutions
  • Excellent data storytelling and communication skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including data engineering and business stakeholders
  • Experience building analytics solutions in complex or multi-entity organizations
  • Familiarity with Azure data platforms or modern data stack tools is a plus
  • Experience supporting AI, digital transformation, or product analytics initiatives is a plus
  • Experience in AEC, engineering, or professional services environments is a strong advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with evolving business needs
