Job description

PageWide Web Press Finishing Solutions Engineer

DescriptionJob Summary

The Finishing Solutions Engineer is responsible for the integration, deployment, and lifecycle support of third‑party finishing solutions with HP PageWide Web Press platforms. This role works across HP internal teams and external partners to deliver reliable, customer‑ready end‑to‑end print solutions in a global production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Own the technical relationship with a 2-3 key external finishing partners, running ongoing meetings, to manage and track joint projects, issues, and escalations.
  • Lead the technical integration of third‑party finishing equipment with HP PageWide Web presses, including nearline and offline configurations.
  • Define, review, and validate interface requirements, including electrical, controls, safety (E‑STOP), and press connectivity.
  • Support customer installations, upgrades, and design changes, including onsite troubleshooting and ramp‑up support.
  • Collaborate closely with external finishing partners and internal HP teams (R&D, Workflow, Customer Support, Operations, Marketing) on development projects and issue resolution.
  • Develop and maintain integration documentation and kits, interface control information, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Translate system‑level and customer requirements into robust integration designs and subsystems.
  • Support Tier‑4 escalations, working with R&D to drive root cause, resolution, and deployment planning.
  • Identify risks and improvement opportunities to enhance solution quality, consistency, and reliability across regions.
  • Manage technical activities in a results‑and schedule‑driven environment, supporting multiple partners and projects concurrently.
Education & Experience Recommended
  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in electrical design and tools, software packages, architecture of electronic hardware, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.

  • Strong experience in systems development involving industrial or production equipment.
  • Experience translating requirements into technical designs and integrated subsystems.
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills with a bias toward execution and delivery.
  • Basic coding and scripting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across organizations and with international partners.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with digital inkjet printing systems and web‑based finishing equipment.
  • Familiarity with HP PageWide Web press platforms, print applications, and finishing ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of Agile development practices and the full product development lifecycle.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, multi‑partner environment.
