About the role:

As a technical leader and subject matter expert for assigned business unit, the Infrastructure Architect will be a key influencer in the achievement of strategic alignment and provide a positive impact on business value. The Infrastructure Architect will work with leaders in the business unit to identify initiatives with high impact which drive the business strategy forward. The person in this role is also expected to be an energetic, dynamic and innovative leader and influencer, acting as an avid promoter of process improvement to enhance productivity and performance of assigned business area. The Infrastructure Architect is an established and recognized figure both internally and externally. This person will represent GM Financial in the broader community and serve as a de-facto ambassador for the organization. It will be important for the Infrastructure Architect to maintain a strong network in the community and represent GM Financial well.

In this role you will...

  • Experience designing and operating highly available, fault-tolerant solutions across hybrid enterprise environments

  • Proficiency in disaster recovery (DR) strategies, including failover solutions, replication tools, and DRaaS (e.g., SRM, ASR, DRS)

  • Expertise in data protection for distributed architectures, including data replication, backups, and cyber resilience

  • Advanced knowledge of cloud solutions architecture (Azure) and on-premises infrastructure

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technology risks and remediation strategies to senior stakeholders

  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities proactively

  • Experience in regulated industries, preferably financial services, ensuring compliance with resilience and security standards

  • Prepare roadmaps, guidelines and direction supporting department and GMF strategies

  • Act as a technical resource to department management and others within the company who are seeking more information about Enterprise Resilience

  • Define Enterprise Resilience requirements for projects and company-wide initiatives including communication of project information to leadership level stakeholders.

  • Lead projects and initiatives through technical expertise

  • Drive technical thought-leadership, acting as a change agent and advocate for new methodologies that enable higher levels of business agility and operational excellence

  • Nurture a strong internal network by working across the business unit to foster a culture of trust, inclusion, engagement and integrity

  • Drive cross-team solutions, anticipating and addressing problems ahead of the need by acting as a key influencer across business units
