Job description

Are you looking to further your career in sales within the rapidly evolving area of auto finance?
GM Financial is the captive finance arm of General Motors, supporting dealers and customers nationwide through innovative finance, insurance and vehicle protection solutions. GM Protection focuses on branded vehicle protection products that enhance the ownership experience while driving customer satisfaction and dealership profitability within a growing, global organization.
GM Financial's Protection Account Manager (PAM) program offers a hands-on opportunity to build consultative sales skills, expand your professional network, and make a direct impact on dealership performance, customer loyalty and long-term profitability.
This four-month developmental program prepares participants for a territory-based Protection Sales Representative assignment through structured training, job shadowing, assessments and real-world dealership experience. The role involves frequent travel, close collaboration with dealership partners and exposure to field-based sales coaching in a dynamic, performance-focused environment.
If you are motivated to grow, eager to learn, and ready to build a career in sales with a respected and evolving brand, apply today and take the next step with GM Financial.
Our program offers:
  • Executive and peer-to-peer networking opportunities.
  • Exposure to products, systems, and other aspects of GM Protection Operations and GM Financial Dealer Services.
  • Opportunities to shadow and learn from the GM Protection sales team, Field Finance and Insurance Trainers (F&I product), as well as the GM Financial lending team.

Position will remain open until filled.
This position is not open to agency submissions.
Responsibilities
During the PAM program, you will:
  • Work on a team with other Protection Account Managers and gain experience in real-world hands-on job-shadowing assessments
  • Receive F&I product, system, process and presentation skills training to prepare you for the consultative sales field assignment
  • Develop strong personal networks of business professionals within GM Financial and the automotive industry

After completing the PAM program, you will:
  • Perform in-dealership one-on-one training, demonstrations, and live modeling to drive effectiveness, compliance, profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Strengthen dealership performance by delivering targeted guidance on core skills, including Sales-to-F&I turnover, customer interviewing and closing techniques
  • Leverage reporting tools and dealer-facing systems to interpret data, identify performance opportunities and take appropriate action to improve results
  • Partner with the Strategic Development Manager (SDM) support team to maximize dealer performance, providing upfront expectations and ongoing communication
  • Participate in new account acquisition process activities
  • Communicate updates and opportunities via the internal CRM system and to Regional Sales Manager
  • Resolve dealership operational issues while identifying and addressing elevated risk to GM Financial

Qualifications
What makes you an ideal candidate:
  • Automotive dealership experience with a desire to build relationships in a consultative sales role managing a territory.
  • Long-term mobility is beneficial for career development and advancement within the sales organization at GM Financial.
  • Please note that you will be required to remain in your initial placement location after completion of the PAM program for 24 months before applying to internal roles.

Candidates should demonstrate:
  • Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection

Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred or extensive relevant experience
  • Knowledge of dealership operations is preferred; in-dealership F&I experience is a plus
  • A proven track record of quality sales performance and client satisfaction; B2B preferred

Working Conditions:
Based at our corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas, the four-month PAM training will require travel, including overnight stays. When training is complete, you must be willing to relocate to "Anywhere USA" (anywhere we have a territory in the U.S. based on assignment, not personal preference). GMF offers a sign-on bonus to assist with relocation expenses based on distance (in miles) from Fort Worth, Texas.
This is a field-based role. Upon completing your onboarding, you will be assigned a GM company vehicle for both business and personal use. You must have a valid state-issued driver's license. This role requires overnight travel within your assigned territory upon final relocation, as well as communication with dealers outside of normal business hours.
Compensation:
The base salary is $75,000 a year, plus annual bonus. We provide corporate housing for candidates and a pool vehicle during training, if applicable. You will also be eligible to participate in our annual bonus program and assigned a company vehicle. This role is also eligible for a phone/internet allowance.
Generous benefits package available on day one that includes 401(k) matching, bonding leave for new parents (12 weeks, 100% paid), tuition assistance, employee auto discount, community service pay and nine company holidays.
