As our Project Engineer / Sr. Project Engineer on our Transportation Engineering Team in our Roseville, CA office, you will support the delivery of transportation infrastructure projects that improve mobility, safety, and connectivity across California. You will work on roadway, highway, and multimodal transportation projects for clients including Caltrans and local agencies, contributing to meaningful public infrastructure improvements while supporting project managers and mentoring junior staff. Our team delivers a range of projects including roadway and intersection improvements, interchanges, active transportation facilities, downtown revitalization, and drainage and water quality enhancements.

What You'll Do

You will support transportation project delivery from design through plan production while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients. You will also contribute to technical design work and help guide junior engineers.

  • Technical Design & Production: Prepare engineering studies, design calculations, and plan production for transportation projects
  • Multimodal & Transportation Design Support: Support design of roadways, highways, transit, bicycle facilities, drainage, signing/striping, and traffic control/staging plans
  • Team & Consultant Coordination: Coordinate with subconsultants and multidisciplinary internal teams
  • Client Engagement & Presentations: Participate in client meetings and presentations
  • Mentorship & Team Development: Mentor junior engineers and support team development

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of California
  • 3+ years of civil engineering experience (8+ years for Sr. Project Engineer level)
  • Experience supporting transportation-related design projects
  • Proficiency with roadway design software and AutoCAD/Civil 3D
  • Familiarity with Caltrans, local agency, and AASHTO standards and regulatory requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering projects for Caltrans or local agencies
  • Experience with multimodal or active transportation projects
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $105,000–$160,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
  • Incentives: Discretionary bonus and recognition programs
  • Time Off: 3–4 weeks PTO plus 8 paid holidays (depending on experience)

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000.
