Primary Purpose of the Position:
Leads a team of engineers to enhance technology, productivity, and reliability in regional Ball plants, optimizing machine processes for standardization, efficiency and reliability. Collaborates with Production and Engineering for process enhancements across all lines and equipment.
Essential Responsible Areas:
  • Lead a team of Controls Engineers for the implementation of regional line control and line simulation software.
  • Assures the use of appropriate and consistent technologies. Maintain new technologies system wide as required.
  • Standardize, enhance and improve reliability of facility support equipment. Including, but not limited to air compressors, dryers, RTO's, ovens, and vision systems.
  • Develop, implement and maintain PLC hardware and software standards for new and existing sites.
  • Ensuring infrastructure is effective across regional facilities.
  • Emphasizes and drives their team to improve the systems for line control and equipment with the end goal of maximizing Asset Utilization throughout the plant network.
  • Responsible for providing training to plant personnel for the implementation and support of the newly implemented systems.
  • Provide training for development software for plant personnel to perform modeling on their own.
  • Establish and maintain PLC standards for new and old sites and support new site implementation as required.
  • Ensure line control team and site electricians are competent on PLC programming, agreeing and setting relevant access rights.
  • Determine role out plan of site line control to maximize output across plant network and best line control approach from standard ladder logic to AOI.

Professional & Education Qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related field preferred
  • Electrical experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage contractors
  • Worked extensively in an industrial electrical engineering environment.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical support equipment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including influencing, facilitation and negotiation
  • High focus on value delivery into the business
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Effective collaboration in cross departmental teams
  • Demonstrate high energy levels with ability to work in a highly pressurized environment with competing demands of time and focus
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Able to accommodate travel throughout NCA up to 60%

Skills:
  • Electrical experience in Manufacturing.
  • Ability to manage contractors
  • Worked extensively in an industrial electrical engineering environment.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical support equipment

Knowledge:
  • PLC programming skills Rockwell and Siemens.
  • Extensive knowledge in Electrical Engineering practices.
  • Knowledge of mechanical support equipment.
  • Knowledge of current energy reduction technologies.
  • Knowledge of current automation technology.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Expected Hiring Salary Range: $98,900, - $141,330 (Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)

  • Remote Work Environment OR Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: If based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more work days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required. Remote work available if based outside of Colorado.
