The Millersburg plant is a high-volume, fast-paced 24/7-365 days/year manufacturing environment.Our crews work 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am) working 4 days one week/ 3 days the following week.  Schedules will rotate from day to night shift every 4 weeks. 

Position Overview: 

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you play a critical role in ensuring that aluminum can products meet established quality and food safety standards. Your responsibilities include advising production teams on quality compliance, conducting inspections, and analyzing data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement. By minimizing quality-related downtime and ensuring compliance with industry regulations, you enhance overall production efficiency and product integrity.

Competencies:

  • Quality Control and Inspections: expertise in conducting through product inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Effective Communication: ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional stakeholders, providing constructive feedback to team members and facilitation collaboration
  • Equipment Troubleshooting and Maintenance: proficiency in performing basic troubleshooting and maintenance of inspection equipment to maintain operation efficiency
  • Process Optimization and Standardization: skilled in implementing Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to improve production efficiency and standardization
  • Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement: strong analytical skills to interpret date, identity trends, and drive process enhancements for better production outcomes
  • Regulatory Compliance: in-depth understanding of quality standards and systems (e.g., ISO), ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal compliance requirements

Skills:

  • Basic troubleshooting, ability to identify and resolve common mechanical and graphics issues in the production process to minimize downtime
  • Mechanical aptitude, understanding of mechanical systems and tools, enabling efficient handling and maintenance of machinery
  • Flexibility in Production roles, flexibility to switch between different tasks and roles, ensuring smooth workflow and responsiveness to production needs
  • Routine Equipment Operation, competence in operating standard manufacturing equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining consistent production quality
  • Quality Standards and Systems Knowledge, familiarity with quality management system (e.g., ISO), supporting compliance and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Problem-Solving Skills, experience with root cause analysis tools and ability to recommend corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues

Accountabilities:

  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) Data Analytics, analyze SPC system data to identify trends, perform root causes analysis, escalate decisions, and provide insights for continuous improvement
  • Inspection Equipment Maintenance, perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure operational efficiency and reliability
  • Quality Decision-Making, make informed decisions on releasing or holding products for inspection during shifts, maintaining product quality standards
  • Collaboration with Production Teams, work closely with production teams to implement control plans and address quality issues effectively
  • Food Safety Compliance, ensure adherence to food safety standards and certifications, leading and coordination food safety audits and inspections
  • Product Quality Assurance, conduct rigorous inspections processes to ensure all products meet quality standards and comply with regulatory and internal requirements
  • Equipment Reliability, maintain and troubleshoot inspection equipment to ensure consistent operational readiness and minimize disruptions to the quality control process

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a quality focused role or STEM degree in lieu of professional work experience
  • Food Safety certifications (e.g., HACCP) and Quality Systems certifications (e.g., ISO or ASQ) are plus
  • Basic computers skills

 Compensation & Benefits

-  Hiring Salary Range: $30.07/hr
-  This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
