Primary purpose of the position:
Serves as assistant to chief accounting officer (VP Controller), having immediate responsibility to recommend, establish and maintain technically sound, consistently applied, accounting policies, practices, procedures and cost effective systems resulting in timely and reliable financial data for the Global Accounting organization.
Essential Responsible Areas:
  • Directs the financial closings, and directs preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated historical financial statements and reports to an executive and operating management.
  • Directs the preparation of financial reports required by federal, state and local regulatory agencies and directs the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and reports to shareholders, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other interested parties.
  • Reviews periodic financial statements and relevant accounting and financial issues and risks with the audit committee of the board of directors, management and others providing analysis and assistance in the proper interpretation of results of operations, of financial condition, and of the general financial affairs of the corporation.
  • Engages independent accountants of the corporation and all of its consolidated domestic and foreign subsidiaries;
  • Performs and/or directs technical account and financial reporting research and monitors developments in accounting and regulatory standards (e.g., FASB, SEC, EITF).
  • Directs responses to new accounting standards proposed by the various accounting regulatory bodies (FASB, SEC , EITF).
  • Ensures the operations and maintenance of and/or enhancements to the designated corporate financial systems including consolidation software and ad hoc reporting capabilities are developed and provided by the responsible delivery groups.
  • Supports the corporation's acquisition and divestiture plans, equity and debt financing initiatives, joint venture operations, and other discreet projects as requested. Assists in review of proposed transactions and business initiatives.
  • Consults as required with accounting personnel of the information services and corporate facilities and services organizations with respect to their own activities identical to items above and their compliance with applicable contracting regulations
  • While the regular working cycle of this position is usually five days (Monday-Friday), this job will often include working weekends (Saturday-Sunday); working hours may vary as specified by management. Incumbent must be able to work overtime on a regular basis and/or be on call as directed by management
  • Other duties as assigned, including responsibility for global SOX program, support for information system implementations, global responsibilities for charge of account and legal/system entity governance, close for corporate ledger and other smaller entities, lead business integrations for accounting, etc.

Position Requirement & competencies:
  • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through graduate degree level education or work-related experience
  • Job related experience for 15 year(s) minimum
  • Ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Must be able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner.
  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
  • Must maintain professional competence, ethical integrity , knowledge, and skills.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Expected Hiring Salary Range: $166,300 - $243,050 (Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
