Job description

This role is for a field-based professional with scientific,clinicaland therapeuticexpertise. The Respiratory Medical Science Liaisonis responsible for providing medical and scientific support for AstraZeneca's marketed products,focused onTezspire,newindicationsand compounds in development.

This is done by:

Developing relationships and engaging in scientific exchange with medical and scientific partners, including Healthcare Professionals, Quality Assurance Managers, Population Health Experts, and Managed Markets CustomerswithinHealth Systems. Each scientific engagement is focused onproviding clinical differentiation, therapeutic landscapeexpertise, and supporting care transformation that enables guidelines-directed medical therapywith theultimate goalof improving medical care for patient with Asthma.

Partnering with key internal stakeholders including Commercial Account Directors/Managers, Payer Medical, Medical Directors, and Practice Change Champions.

Identifyingpre-clinical, clinical and post-marketing study investigators in alignment with Medical Affairsobjectives;and provide impactful information that enhances the value and proper use of AZ products to internal partners.

Responding to customer inquiries to provide focused and balanced clinical and scientific information that supports theappropriate useof or clinically differentiates AstraZeneca's products and services

This position is based inMichigan,applicants fromMichigan area (focusedinDetroit)are encouraged to apply.

Essential for the role:

  • 0-1 years' experience as a Medical Science Liaison in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Advanced Clinical/Science Degreerequired(e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, MSN, NP, PA, etc.). BSN with extensive clinical experience may be considered.

  • Knowledge of Health Systems, customersegmentsand market dynamics

  • Demonstratedexpertisein discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences

  • Experienceinitiatingcare transformationwithin Health Systems

  • Excellent project management ability

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory environment

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Strong leadership capabilities

  • Mustresidein territory

  • Ability to travel (50-70%) - percentage varies with geography

Desirable for the role:

  • 2+ years' experience as a Medical Science Liaison in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Establishedtrack recordof basic or clinical research
  • Provenexpertisein the drug discovery and drug development process
  • Previousexperience working within Health Systems or Integrated Delivery Networks
