Job Description

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A COUNSELOR I AND III AT OUR HARRISBURG FACILITY!!!

This individual will be responsible for independently carrying a full client case load and will complete individual assessments, maintain strong record keeping, and promote healthy outcomes. He/she will be responsible for the integration of treatment goals/treatment planning through facilitating individual, group, and family counseling. He/she will also conduct utilization reviews. This individual should be knowledgeable about the different levels of treatment in the continuum of care. In addition, this individual will be expected to assume House Manager duties and any other additional responsibilities as assigned by the Program Supervisor/ Director.

Duties may include, but are not limited to: carrying out tasks in the therapeutic care, treatment and rehabilitation of persons with chemical dependency and/or mental health problems; providing, facilitating and supervising individual and group counseling; working with other social agencies, FAP, SAP and managed care organizations, hospitals, clinics, courts, prisons and gatekeepers in planning to meet the needs of clients and assist them in utilizing these resources; preparing treatment plans, histories, writing letters, making reports and keeping records; encouraging, reassuring and giving needed support; recommending educational and occupational training and/or possibilities for placement; providing assessment and evaluations based on appropriate criteria.

 

Qualifications for Counselor I:

· Associates degree/CAC plus four (4) years’ experience

· Bachelors’ Degree plus two (2) years’ experience

· Master’s degree plus one (1) year experience

· Sobriety: If recovering, two (2) years sobriety

 

Qualifications for Counselor III:

· Associates degree/CAC plus five (5) years’ experience

· Bachelors’ Degree plus three (3) years’ experience

· Master’s degree plus two (2) years’ experience

· Sobriety: If recovering, two (2) years sobriety
