Many web project managers hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, computer programming, or a related field, but some employers may consider candidates without a degree who have extensive experience in managing projects in the industry. Many web project managers start by taking small online jobs to get experience, then work their way up to a full-time role. You must have demonstrated success in web design, development, or integration. Employers also expect you to be proficient in several industry-related platforms, software, and tools, such as content management systems, JIRA, and Agile methodologies. Additional qualifications include excellent problem-solving and organizational skills and attention to detail.
