Warehouse loading and unloading jobs involve packing, loading, and unloading trucks and pallets. In this type of role, you receive freight shipments, unload and load packages, operate loading and unloading conveyor mechanisms, and handle other duties depending on the industry or organization. Your responsibilities can include operating a forklift, lifting heavy items, running electric pallet jacks, and even driving a truck around the company property. Loading and unloading jobs typically require staying on your feet for most shifts and routinely bending, twisting, and moving around in the workspace to sort, verify, and package shipments for delivery. You also check incoming freight and maintain documentation for the materials you process.

For most warehouse loading and unloading jobs, you typically need a high school diploma or GED certificate to meet employers’ minimum qualifications. Reliable transportation is another prerequisite, and some companies require you to possess a valid driver’s license. A criminal background check and drug test are common requirements for warehouse jobs. You routinely lift up to 50 pounds while working, so physical stamina is a necessity.
