What Does a Remote Webmaster Do?
A remote webmaster is responsible for maintaining websites. Your responsibilities include building a website that is functional; helping configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers; and addressing user complaints. You must monitor a website, its pages, and the content to ensure that they are in working order and provide support as necessary. Your other duties as a remote webmaster include ensuring optimal website security by setting up login pages and firewalls, fixing broken images or links, debugging pages, analyzing and monitoring website performance, and reviewing search engine optimization. This is a work from home position.
How to Become a Remote Webmaster
The minimum qualifications you need to become a remote webmaster typically include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline. Proficiency with one or more programming languages is important in this role. Being familiar with web standards, search engine optimization, and web analytics are helpful.
