As a remote developer, your duties and responsibilities involve programming the algorithms and code that control mobile, online, and computer video games. You work from home to develop action sequences in games, graphical user interfaces, and other basic tools that allow for seamless user gameplay. You must ensure that the software is compatible with console or computer requirements, such as memory usage and graphics chip limitations, and be able to identify and fix glitches in the game quickly. How to Become a Remote Game Developer
To become a remote game developer, you need a bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field. Several schools offer a degree in computer game development as well. In addition to educational qualifications, it’s recommended to look for internship opportunities which can help improve your chances of getting work when you finish school. Many game developers work in an office for a few years before transferring to a remote role. Important technical skills to have include the ability to code in several languages, such as Java, Python, and C, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. You also need a reliable computer setup and high-speed internet access to work from home.
